With less than 29,000 elephants remaining in India, (~60% of global Asiatic elephant population), help us work towards a future where these majestic beings thrive in the wild.
Simran Prasad, our amazing doctoral fellow, is on a mission to understand trends in human and elephant injuries and deaths in the Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve of the Western Ghats. Her goal is to create long-term solutions that foster tolerance toward these gentle giants in high-conflict areas.
Your contribution will help support research assistant salaries, as they work with Simran to analyze data collected on the fascinating relationship between people and elephants in the Western Ghats. Proceeds will also help support Simran’s Doctoral Fellowship and travel, as she continues to pursue her PhD research on human-wildlife conflict.
Our Doctoral Program is supporting young scientists like Simran study a broad array of species from mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and other wildlife, as well as human dimensions of conservation. Please support them in raising ₹10,00,000 to be able to continue their important conservation research.
